Governance
The beginning of 2025 marked a transition from INGROUPE Chairman Didier Trutt to Marc-Julian Siewert, CEO Veridos as Chair of the Board of the Alliance.
We are happy to welcome our new Board Members: Agnès Diallo, CEO, INGroupe, Nathalie Gosset, VP Identity & Biometric solutions, Thales, Antoine Grenier, CEO, IDEMIA Smart Identity, and our Secretary General Olivier Charlanes, Senior VP at IDEMIA Smart Identity.

SIDI Hub: A Movement Toward Global Interoperability
Over the past year, SIA and SIDI 16 Co-Organizers Non-Profits have engaged with governments, businesses, and industry leaders from Cape Town to Berlin, Washington to Tokyo, strengthening our mission for digital identity global interoperability. With SIDI Hub, we are bringing real-world, scalable identity solutions to life, bridging the gap between policy and implementation.
OSIA Became an International Standard
OSIA is now recognized as ITU-T X.1281, a landmark moment in digital identity interoperability. This achievement means that governments worldwide can implement identity systems that are truly open and interconnected.
Introducing the eSEC Web Tool
A powerful self-assessment platform designed by the SIA’s Document Security Working Group and industry experts to help governments evaluate and enhance the physical security of their eDocuments, assess design changes, and ensure application of ICAO’s Doc 9303 guidelines.
Privacy-by-Design in Digital ID
A global study by the Multidisciplinary Research group on Privacy and data protEcTion (MR PET) at Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU, in partnership with SIA’s Digital ID Working Group, explores how stakeholder Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices impact the integration of Privacy-by-Design (PbD) in national digital ID systems. Through surveys and focus groups with Governments and Industry, the research – published in the Springer Journal – uncovers real-world challenges and enablers, providing valuable insights and recommendations to strengthen the future of secure, inclusive, and privacy-preserving digital identities worldwide.
Giving Voice to Digital ID in Africa: 8 Country Fact Sheets Published
Providing valuable insights into each country’s context, key functionalities, real-world use cases, digital maturity levels, challenges, achievements, and unique characteristics. With a forward-looking approach, we also outline the next steps for digital ID development in each country.
