Types of membership

 


 

The Alliance brings together public, private and non-government organizations to foster international collaboration on Digital ID challenges and the issues of data security, citizen privacy, identity, authentication and more.

There are three types of membership:

 

Observers

The Secure Identity Alliance wishes that Government agencies or Academic bodies, active in the field of identity management and digital trust in e-Government, may take part in its discussions. To this purpose a special status of Advisory or Associate Observer has been created. Advisory or Associate Observers are not required to pay any fee.

 


 

Full Members

MAY APPLY TO BECOME A FULL MEMBER OF THE SECURE IDENTITY ALLIANCE ANY LEGAL PERSON THAT, CUMULATIVELY MEET THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

1. Has a commercial activity;

2. Has been formed in accordance with the law of a Member State of the European Union and has its registered or statutory office and centraladministration in the European Union;

3. Is positioned on the full value chain and life cycle of documents: enrolment, personalization, application and verification;

4. Has global operations covering, cumulatively, operating system development and security printing capabilities;

5. Holds security certification(s) and certification(s) of information technology security, recognized by the Member States of the European Union, in a form and quantity to be specified in the Internal Bylaws; and

6. Has not been held liable for breach of intellectual property rights within the industrial sector described at the first paragraph of Article 2, by a final decision from a court of justice or any other independent authority having jurisdiction, during three (3) years before applying for membership.

23rd May 2013 – Members Meeting ANNUAL FEES: EUR 30,000

Note: Operating systems include all embedded software running onto the e-documents, including e-services applications.
Regarding condition (v) of Article 4.3 of the Articles of Association, Full Members need to hold at least two (2) security certifications or certifications of information technology security, recognized by Member States of the European Union.

 


 

Associate Members

MAY APPLY TO BECOME AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER ANY LEGAL PERSON THAT MEETS THE CONDITIONS (I), (II), (V) AND (VI) BUT ONLY PARTIALLY MEETS CONDITIONS (III) AND/OR (IV).

Associate Members need to meet the following thresholds:
3. Regarding condition (iii) of Article 4.3 of the Articles of Association: Associate Members must be positioned on at least two (2) of the four (4) activities listed in said condition, i.e. enrolment, personalization, application and verification.
4. Regarding condition (iv) of Article 4.3 of the Articles of Association: Associate Members must be positioned on a least one (1) of the two (2) activities listed in said condition, i.e. operating system development and security printing capabilities.
 
23rd May 2013 – Members Meeting ANNUAL FEES: EUR 10,000

Note: Regarding condition (v) of Article 4.3 of the Articles of Association, Associate Members need to hold at least one (1) security certification or certification of information technology security, recognized by Member States of the European Union.
